An Apple Netbook With Touchscreen Coming Soon?

by Cristhian Bedon on March 12, 2009

Close on the heels of rumors from the Commercial Times on Monday and Dow Jones Newswires on Tuesday, Reuters reports on a source close to touchscreen manufacturer Wintek saying that the company has received orders from Apple for 10-inch touchscreens expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2009.

This would be something fun to have. One more thing from my Christmas wish list. Net books have been getting a lot of attention lately but I have just seen more “Windows” related , this is the first Mac and “touch” Net book. Seems like Mac is getting there “touch” feature everywhere.

After the wow factor wears off, it seems that a touchscreen netbook is rather impractical. I would rather have a “real” keyboard to type on when I’m heavily using the internet. It’s one thing to check a page on an IPhone/ITouch, but I don’t want to type a lot on a touchscreen. It does look pretty though 🙂

I agree, I am one to type fast and I doubt I would have the same effect on a touchscreen. This is one reason I still haven’t really wanted an iPhone – I don’t think I would be able to type without look, even with practice.
